My name is Jibran Salam and I am a freshman at Rutgers University studying Finance and Business Analytics Information Technology on the Pre-Law track. I am extremely excited to serve as your chair for the Oscars Committee alongside my fellow Gub, Matt, and hear debate on the diverse topics presented. I truly enjoy films and my favorite movie is The Last Samurai starring Tom Cruise. Hi! My name is Matt Tam and I’m a first year at the University of Virginia hoping to study commerce and foreign affairs. I spent all 4 years competing for Langleys Model UN team and I’m so incredibly excited to be your one of your chairs for the Oscars 2027. VIMUNC was my always favorite part of MUN every year so I’m so happy to be coming back to chair!
At UVA, I’m currently involved in SEED Consulting, the International Relations Organization, and the Filmmakers Society on grounds, so if you have any questions at all about college, clubs, etc. please ask! Outside of school, you can probably find me playing the guitar, drums, or football with the Gubs Blasters. But my childhood love has always been movies, and while I’m happy to go through our Letterboxd Top 4s and favorite films, I’m even more excited to see what you guys come up with! |
My name is Rahniya Siddiqui, and I am so excited to be serving as your Czar for the 2027 Oscars committee this year at VIMUNC XIII! I am a sophomore here at Langley High School, and this is my second year being a part of MUN. Whether you have done a dozen crisis committees, or are new to them, I encourage you all to think outside the box, take bold risks, and fully commit to expressing yourselves! This committee is designed to be fast-paced, dramatic, and most importantly, unpredictable. As crisis committees are all about initiative, be sure to stir things up and make the next big move that could change the course of this prestigious awards ceremony.
Outside of Model UN, I enjoy spending time with my friends and traveling the world. I love spaces where collaboration is the driving force of the room, yet having fun still takes over- which is the exact feeling I hope this committee has.
