Chair: Arjun Atreya
Co-Chair: Rujvi Thakkar
Hi everyone! I'm Arjun Atreya and I will be your chair for the Oceans 11 crisis at our 11th annual VIMUNC. I am a sophomore at Langley and have been doing MUN for the past two years and just last year I was a cochair for a highschool JCC at VIMUNC. MUN has not only allowed me to learn how to become a better delegate, but it has allowed me to make many great friends. I love going to college conferences like ILMUNC and VAMUN because of the memories that I make walking in the cities and just hanging out.Outside of MUN, I play basketball for Langley while also participating in debate and a variety other clubs. Additionally, I love listening to rap music like 21 Savage, Yeat, and Drake.
About committee, I look forward to passionate debate about the two topics presented and cannot wait to see how creative you guys get with your arcs/solutions. More about committee: I will be judging you all on both your front room and back room evenly because even though this is still a crisis, we still do value public speaking very much at VIMUNC. More on that note, try to project your voice when you speak and not look at notes too much when speaking. I want this to be a fun committee so I am open to you guys having funny hooks in your speeches (but don’t try too hard). I do like it when you are leading your blocs during unmods, but you have to be diplomatic; if you’re telling people to “shut up” or specifically excluding people, it won’t be a good look. Also, I know that this may be many of your guys’ first year doing MUN, so DON’T BE AFRAID TO ASK QUESTIONS. While I know that all of you want to win, I want this conference to be a learning experience for you guys to prepare for highschool. More importantly, I want every single one of you should have a fun time at VIMUNC… so have fun! Good luck guys.
